Crib docks have wooden boxes filled with rocks for support.
We DON'T do this!

Drilling & Marine Construction

TIMIS, Inc. is a drilling, dock building and marine construction company operating in the northern  New York.  We have completed projects in many Jefferson and St. Lawrence County communities from Lake Ontario though the Thousand Islands and up the St. Lawrence River, including Henderson, Henderson Harbor, Sackets Harbor, Chaumont, Cape Vincent, Clayton,  Alexandria Bay,  Wellesley Island, Thousand Island Park, Fineview, Redwood, Chippewa Bay, Hammond, and Morristown.

We have been marine contractors since 2002.  New in 2011 we have added sales and installation of IMM/Quality Boatlifts and personal watercraft (PWC) lifts  (www.immboatlifts.com).  We have also  expanded on our steel-framed dock design and are now building steel-framed boathouses.  We repair crib docks, but we do not recommend installing crib docks or aluminum docks.  Even in waterfront locations where the wave action and ice flow are severe, we install permanent docks with drilled steel pilings and structural steel frames.

We are your professional marine construction company.  We provide written contracts with set costs—no suprises.   We prepare permit applications for NYS Department of Environmental Conservation,  US Army Corps of Engineers, NYS Department of State Coastal Zone Management Program, and NYS Office of General Services.  We take the time to explain the construction process.

We drive or drill
6 inch steel pipes into the riverbed to support the dock.

We weld a steel frame, then add steel crossbars and x-bracing.

Then we attach 2x6" pressure-treated stringers to the structural steel.
We screw, not nail, the decking in place.
We use 2x6" pressure-treated lumber for for decking and staving.
We do not use 5/4" decking lumber.
We use all galvinized hardware.

We add the fine details that make your dock exceptional!
